Funded in 2017, Gohar Farzanegan Kharameh started its activity in order to create added value in the mining sector and prevent the sale of raw iron ore. Apart from that, the company developed the country’s iron and steel industry as well as extracting from the country's mineral zones. The main shareholders of this company include Farzanegan Fars Nikoo Company, Gol Gohar Industrial and Mining Company, Iran Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
Its initial mission is to design, build, and operate a pelletizing plant with an annual capacity of 2.5 million tons in Kharameh, Fars Province. In addition to the pelletizing plant, the company has more development plans including the completion of exploration operations in Bahram Goor area. Moreoever, the company is going to start exploitation and extraction from iron ore mines to produce particles. It is also going to construct a sponge iron plant with a capacity of 1.8 million tons per year. An iron ore concentrate plant is going to be constructed. Its resources are extracted from Bahram Goor area in Fars.
The construction of the pelletizing plant has started as the first phase of this project. As planned, it will be put into operation in 2023. Furthermore, a part of the exploration operation in Bahram Goor area has been completed with an approximate storage of 5.9 million tons of iron ore.
