Farzanegan Energy Pars Company

Farzanegan Energy Pars Company, aligned with the vision of the oil and gas industry of the Islamic Republic of Iran and with the aim of increasing the capacity of domestic refineries to reduce crude oil exports of valuable national resources and to expand the export of petroleum products, was established. In this regard, considering the significant potential of the South Pars gas reserves, the company initiated its activities in Bushehr Province, within the South Pars Special Economic Zone, as the main developer of the Farzanegan Gas Condensate Refinery project. Upon completion, this refinery will play an important role in creating added value, replacing imports, and contributing to the economic development of the region and beyond.

The Farzanegan Refinery, designed as a large refining complex with a daily processing capacity of 40,000 barrels of gas condensate, is located in Assaluyeh on the shores of the Persian Gulf. The gas condensate feedstock for these facilities is supplied directly from the South Pars gas field, one of the world’s largest natural gas reserves.

Based on the latest market studies, the products of this refinery project include End Heavy, butane cut, pentane cut, sweet (desulfurized) naphtha, and solvents 400 and 402.

So far, through the completion of basic and detailed engineering, international market studies, procurement of the technical license for the naphtha hydrotreating unit from Axens of France, ordering of long-lead equipment, and execution of earthwork operations, soil stabilization and piling, construction of the main warehouse and central workshop buildings, installation of steel structures for the main pipe racks, and procurement and installation of six storage tanks for feedstock and refinery products, a physical progress of 44% has been achieved in the project. It is anticipated that with the continuation of the current progress, the Farzanegan Refinery will be commissioned in the first half of 2027 (1406 A.H.).
