Persia Mobility Group (Persia Khodro) has secured the necessary licenses to manufacture ROX vehicles in Iran, potentially marking a new phase in the company’s activities in the new energy vehicle and luxury SUV segments.
Having previously imported vehicles from the brand, Persia Khodro is now paving the way for local production and broader availability of ROX models in the Iranian market. With its advanced technology and modern approach, ROX joins PMG’s portfolio of premium and internationally recognized automotive brands, including MINI, BMW, Opel, GAC and Nissan.
ROX has gained international recognition in recent years for its SUVs featuring extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) technology and has established a strong presence in Arab markets, particularly in the Gulf region. The brand’s first model, the ROX 01, has also been introduced to Iran through Persia Khodro. Securing manufacturing licenses could help expand Persia Mobility Group’s production portfolio while supporting technology transfer, increasing local content and developing new capabilities within Iran’s automotive industry. The company is expected to officially announce further details on the production timeline, project location and rollout plans for ROX vehicles in the near future.
The ROX 01, the brand’s debut model, is a luxury off-road SUV equipped with EREV technology. Its powertrain features two electric motors delivering a combined output of approximately 476 hp and 740 Nm of torque, alongside a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that operates exclusively as a generator. With acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 5.5 seconds, an all-electric range of up to 235 km and a combined range exceeding 1,100 km, it brings together strong performance, energy efficiency and long-distance touring capability.
Available in six- and seven-seat configurations, the ROX 01 offers intelligent all-wheel drive, adaptive suspension, a luxurious cabin, Zero Gravity seats, a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems and capable off-road performance. These features position it among China’s most advanced new energy SUVs.
